Terms and Conditions

Last Updated: August 2026

Welcome to Lifemate Safaris. These Terms & Conditions explain the terms under which we arrange and provide safari tours, travel experiences, accommodation, transportation, and related services in Tanzania.

By making a booking with Lifemate Safaris Limited, you confirm that you have read, understood, and accepted these Terms & Conditions.

If you have any questions about these terms, please contact our team before confirming your booking.

1. Booking and Acceptance

1.1 Acceptance of Terms

A booking made with Lifemate Safaris Limited (“Lifemate Safaris”, “we”, “us”, or “the Company”) constitutes acceptance of these Terms & Conditions by the person making the booking and all travelers included in the booking.

The person who makes the booking is responsible for ensuring that all members of their traveling party are aware of and accept these terms.

1.2 Making a Booking

Planning a safari is often a collaborative process. After receiving your enquiry, our safari specialists may communicate with you to understand your interests, preferred travel dates, accommodation preferences, activities, and budget.

Once an itinerary and quotation have been agreed upon, we will provide payment instructions. Your booking becomes confirmed once the required deposit has been received and we have issued written confirmation.

We may also request additional information, including:

  • Passport details
  • International and domestic flight information
  • Dietary requirements
  • Accommodation preferences
  • Emergency contact information
  • Other information necessary to operate your trip safely and effectively

We will make reasonable efforts to accommodate special requests communicated during the booking process. However, special requests are subject to availability and cannot be guaranteed unless expressly confirmed in writing.

Lifemate Safaris reserves the right to decline a booking before issuing final confirmation.

2. Prices and Price Changes

Once your booking has been confirmed and the required deposit has been received, we will generally honor the prices stated in your confirmed quotation.

However, certain circumstances may require an adjustment to the price, including:

2.1 Supplier Price Changes

Where suppliers have not yet released their final rates for your travel period, an estimated price may be included in your quotation. If the supplier subsequently increases its rates, the difference may be passed on to the traveler.

2.2 Government Fees and Taxes

National park fees, conservation fees, taxes, permits, and other government-regulated charges in Tanzania may change without prior notice.

Where such mandatory charges increase after your booking has been confirmed, the additional cost may be payable by the traveler.

2.3 Fuel Surcharges

Significant increases in fuel costs imposed by transportation or other suppliers may result in additional charges being passed on to the traveler.

2.4 Exchange Rate Fluctuations

Where significant currency fluctuations result in additional charges from our suppliers, we may need to adjust the applicable price.

2.5 Pricing Errors

If a significant pricing or quotation error occurs, Lifemate Safaris reserves the right to correct the error and, where necessary, withdraw the affected quotation or booking.

3. Travel Insurance

Comprehensive travel insurance is strongly recommended for every traveler.

Your insurance should provide appropriate coverage for:

  • Trip cancellation or interruption
  • Medical treatment
  • Emergency evacuation
  • Repatriation
  • Accidental injury
  • Death
  • Lost, stolen, or damaged baggage
  • Personal belongings and travel documents
  • Activities that may be considered high-risk

Travelers participating in activities such as mountain climbing, scuba diving, water sports, horseback riding, or other adventure activities should confirm that their insurance specifically covers those activities.

Lifemate Safaris is not responsible for losses, expenses, medical costs, or other consequences arising from a traveler failing to obtain adequate insurance.

We recommend purchasing appropriate travel insurance as soon as your booking is confirmed.

4. Traveler Health, Fitness and Suitability

Some of our safaris and activities may involve long journeys, uneven terrain, walking, altitude, remote locations, or physically demanding conditions.

Travelers are responsible for informing Lifemate Safaris of any relevant medical, mobility, dietary, or fitness considerations that may affect their ability to participate safely in the trip.

You must notify us of any significant change to your health, mobility, or fitness between the time of booking and the start of your trip.

Where we reasonably believe that a traveler is unable to safely participate in an activity or itinerary, we reserve the right to modify or terminate the relevant arrangements.

Where arrangements are terminated because of a traveler’s inability to safely participate, cancellation charges may apply and refunds may not be available.

5. Traveler Conduct

Travelers are expected to behave responsibly and respectfully toward guides, staff, local communities, other travelers, wildlife, accommodation providers, and property.

Lifemate Safaris reserves the right to terminate a traveler’s arrangements without notice where their conduct:

  • Creates danger or significant risk;
  • Causes serious distress or disruption to others;
  • Damages property;
  • Violates applicable laws;
  • Places guides, staff, other travelers, or themselves at unreasonable risk; or
  • Seriously interferes with the operation of the trip.

In such circumstances, the Company may have no obligation to provide a refund or compensation for unused services.

6. Problems During Your Trip

If a problem occurs during your trip, you should notify your safari guide, our representative, or Lifemate Safaris as soon as reasonably possible.

Prompt notification gives us the opportunity to investigate the issue and take appropriate corrective action while you are still traveling.

Where a traveler does not report a problem during the trip and gives us no reasonable opportunity to resolve it, our ability to investigate or provide an appropriate remedy may be limited.

For post-trip complaints, travelers should provide relevant supporting evidence where available, including photographs, receipts, correspondence, or other documentation.

7. Liability and Limitations

Lifemate Safaris will take reasonable care in arranging the services included in your confirmed itinerary.

However, we cannot accept responsibility for circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to:

  • Severe or unexpected weather;
  • Natural disasters;
  • Government actions or regulations;
  • Changes to national park regulations;
  • Road conditions;
  • Wildlife-related incidents;
  • Strikes or industrial action;
  • Political unrest;
  • War or terrorism;
  • Epidemics or pandemics;
  • Delays or cancellations by airlines or other carriers;
  • Loss, theft, or damage to personal belongings;
  • Third-party supplier failures;
  • Medical emergencies;
  • Evacuation difficulties;
  • Communication or infrastructure failures; or
  • Other events of force majeure.

Lifemate Safaris is not responsible for acts or omissions of independent airlines, hotels, transportation providers, activity operators, or other third-party suppliers where those services are outside our direct control.

Travel in Tanzania, particularly in remote safari and wilderness areas, carries inherent risks. Travelers acknowledge that conditions and standards may differ from those in their home countries.

8. Wildlife and Adventure Activities

Safari travel involves operating in natural environments where wildlife is present.

Although our guides and partners take appropriate precautions, wildlife encounters cannot be completely controlled or predicted.

Travelers must follow all safety instructions provided by their safari guide, accommodation, activity operator, or local authorities.

Travelers participating in optional adventure activities do so at their own risk and should ensure that their insurance provides appropriate coverage.

9. Additional Activities and Excursions

During your trip, we may provide information about additional activities, excursions, or services offered by independent third-party operators.

Unless expressly included in your confirmed itinerary and arranged by Lifemate Safaris, these activities do not form part of your contract with us.

Such services may include, for example:

  • Water sports;
  • Diving;
  • Horse riding;
  • Cultural activities;
  • Boat excursions;
  • Additional tours; and
  • Other optional experiences.

Where an activity is operated independently by a third party, Lifemate Safaris is not responsible for that provider’s acts, omissions, performance, or failure to provide the service.

10. Flights and Airline Services

Airlines operate independently from Lifemate Safaris.

If your flight is delayed, cancelled, rescheduled, overbooked, or otherwise disrupted, you should contact the airline directly regarding any compensation, refund, rebooking, or assistance to which you may be entitled.

Airline delays or cancellations do not automatically entitle you to cancel or obtain a refund for other travel arrangements included in your itinerary.

Where possible, Lifemate Safaris will assist travelers in rearranging affected safari arrangements, subject to availability and any additional costs imposed by suppliers.

11. Transfers and Transportation

Lifemate Safaris will make reasonable efforts to ensure that transportation arrangements operate according to the confirmed itinerary.

However, transportation in Tanzania may be affected by weather, road conditions, mechanical issues, flight schedules, local circumstances, or other factors beyond our control.

If a transportation service fails or is significantly delayed, we will make reasonable efforts to find an alternative arrangement where possible.

Any additional costs arising from circumstances outside our control may be payable by the traveler.

12. Accommodation

Accommodation is subject to availability at the time of booking.

Specific room types, views, bed configurations, or special requests may be requested but cannot always be guaranteed.

If the booked accommodation becomes unavailable, Lifemate Safaris may arrange a suitable alternative of a comparable standard where reasonably possible.

Where a confirmed accommodation booking cannot be provided and no suitable alternative is available, any refund will be limited to the amount actually paid for the affected accommodation service, subject to the applicable supplier terms.

13. Information and Accuracy

We make reasonable efforts to ensure that information provided on our website, quotations, itineraries, and other travel materials is accurate.

However, information such as operating schedules, accommodation facilities, park regulations, activity availability, travel times, and supplier services may change.

Lifemate Safaris cannot guarantee that all information will remain unchanged between the time of booking and the time of travel.

Where we become aware of a material change affecting a confirmed service, we will communicate the change to the traveler as reasonably possible.

14. Health and Safety

Travelers are responsible for obtaining appropriate medical and travel-health advice before traveling to Tanzania.

Health requirements, vaccination recommendations, entry requirements, and other travel-health guidance may change over time.

Travelers should consult an appropriate travel-health professional before departure and ensure that they meet all applicable health and entry requirements.

Travelers should also understand that medical facilities and emergency services may be limited in remote safari areas.

The standards of healthcare, hygiene, transportation, security, and infrastructure may differ from those travelers are accustomed to in their home countries.

15. Third-Party Suppliers

Many components of a safari are provided by independent suppliers, including:

  • Lodges and hotels;
  • Airlines;
  • Camps;
  • Transportation companies;
  • Domestic flight operators;
  • Activity providers; and
  • Other tourism service providers.

These suppliers may have their own terms and conditions that apply to the services they provide.

Where applicable, travelers are also subject to the relevant supplier’s terms and conditions.

16. Customer Protection

Lifemate Safaris works with suppliers and service providers to maintain reliable arrangements for confirmed travelers.

Where appropriate, we make advance payments to suppliers to secure accommodation, transportation, permits, and other services.

Travel insurance remains an important part of protecting travelers against losses arising from circumstances such as cancellation, interruption, illness, or other unforeseen events.

17. Cancellation and Refunds

Cancellation terms may vary depending on the services included in your itinerary and the policies of the relevant suppliers.

Any applicable cancellation charges and refund conditions will be communicated as part of your booking documentation or quotation.

Because many safari services are secured in advance and may be non-refundable, travelers should review the cancellation terms carefully before making payment.

Where a refund is approved, the amount will be determined after considering payments already made to suppliers, applicable cancellation penalties, and other non-refundable costs.

18. Changes to Your Booking

Requests to change travel dates, accommodation, transportation, activities, or other itinerary components must be submitted to Lifemate Safaris as soon as possible.

We will make reasonable efforts to accommodate requested changes, subject to availability.

Changes may result in additional charges imposed by suppliers and may also be subject to cancellation or amendment fees.

19. Force Majeure

Lifemate Safaris will not be liable for failure or delay in performing its obligations where the circumstances result from events beyond our reasonable control.

Such circumstances may include natural disasters, extreme weather, government restrictions, war, terrorism, civil unrest, epidemics, pandemics, strikes, transport disruptions, infrastructure failures, or other exceptional events.

Where such circumstances affect your trip, we will make reasonable efforts to provide alternative arrangements where possible.

20. Fraudulent Enquiries

Lifemate Safaris reserves the right to take appropriate legal action against individuals or organizations that deliberately submit fraudulent enquiries, impersonate genuine travelers, obtain confidential commercial information through deception, or otherwise misuse our services for competitive or unlawful purposes.

21. Group Leader

For group bookings, the first person named on the booking documentation will be considered the Group Leader.

The Group Leader is responsible for:

  • Providing accurate information for the group;
  • Communicating relevant information to other travelers;
  • Ensuring that required payments are made;
  • Communicating applicable booking conditions to group members; and
  • Providing necessary information requested by Lifemate Safaris.

The booking contract is between Lifemate Safaris and the Group Leader on behalf of the travelers included in the booking, unless otherwise agreed in writing.

22. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms & Conditions and any agreement between Lifemate Safaris and the traveler shall be governed by the laws of the United Republic of Tanzania.

Any dispute, claim, or matter arising from or relating to a booking or these Terms & Conditions shall be subject to the applicable courts of Tanzania.

23. Amendments to These Terms

Lifemate Safaris may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time to reflect changes in our services, business practices, applicable regulations, or legal requirements.

The version applicable to your booking will generally be the version in effect at the time your booking is confirmed, unless otherwise required by law or agreed in writing.
