Day 1

TARANGIRE NATIONAL PARK

After an early breakfast in Arusha, begin your safari journey with a scenic drive to Tarangire National Park. Famous for its impressive elephant herds and ancient baobab trees, Tarangire offers a rich wildlife experience. The Tarangire River, a year-round water source, attracts a variety of animals including lions, leopards, giraffes, zebras, and countless bird species. Spend the day exploring the park’s open plains and lush riverine forests on a thrilling game drive. Capture unforgettable moments as you spot diverse wildlife in their natural habitat. In the late afternoon, continue your journey to the highlands of Karatu, located near the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Arrive at your charming lodge or tented camp in time to relax before dinner. NGORONGOR CRATER - NDUTU REGION

After an early breakfast, drive to Ngorongoro Crater, one of Africa’s most spectacular wildlife destinations. Descend into the crater, which is home to an incredible concentration of wildlife, including the Big Five (lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, and black rhino). The crater’s unique ecosystem supports a variety of animals, from large herbivores to apex predators. Enjoy a game drive across the crater floor, passing through grasslands, lakes, and acacia forests, before having lunch at a scenic picnic site. In the afternoon, continue your journey toward the Ndutu area in Southern Serengeti, a prime location for the wildebeest calving season. As you enter the region, start tracking the massive herds of wildebeest and zebra that gather here between January and March for calving. Arrive at your lodge or tented camp in time for dinner and an overnight.

Full-Day Game Drive in Ndutu – Wildebeest Calving Migration Experience. Spend the entire day exploring the Ndutu plains, one of the most exciting locations for game viewing during the calving season. Over 500,000 wildebeest calves are born in just a few weeks, providing an incredible wildlife spectacle. Watch newborn wildebeest take their first steps and witness dramatic predator-prey interactions as lions, cheetahs, hyenas, and leopards take advantage of the abundance of easy prey.The open plains of Ndutu offer excellent photographic opportunities, with vast herds stretching to the horizon. The region’s woodlands and seasonal lakes also attract other wildlife, including elephants, giraffes, elands, gazelles, and a variety of bird species. Enjoy a picnic lunch in the wild before continuing your game drive until evening. Return to your lodge or tented camp for dinner and overnight stay

Early Morning Drive from Ndutu to Arusha – Option for Zanzibar or Kilimanjaro Departure. After an early breakfast, embark on a morning drive from Ndutu back to Arusha, enjoying one last chance to spot wildlife along the way. Depending on your travel plans, you may either stay in Arusha for a relaxing evening or take a flight to Zanzibar for a beach extension or to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your international departure.

This itinerary provides a well-balanced combination of game drives, wildlife encounters, and scenic landscapes, offering an unforgettable experience during the wildebeest calving migration in Ndutu, South Serengeti.
