Day 1
ARRIVAL DAY
Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you’ll be greeted by your safari guide and transferred to your lodge in Arusha, the gateway to northern Tanzania’s wildlife circuit. After check-in, take time to rest and adjust from your journey. If time allows, explore the vibrant town of Arusha with options to visit local markets, museums, or simply relax in the tranquil gardens of your lodge. Enjoy a warm welcome dinner and receive a briefing about the exciting safari ahead. The peaceful setting of your lodge offers the perfect start to your adventure, surrounded by views of Mount Meru and the sounds of East Africa.

Day 2
TARANGIRE NATIONAL PARK
After breakfast, you’ll drive to Tarangire National Park, known for its ancient baobab trees and dense elephant population. As you journey through the park, expect to see large herds of elephants, zebras, wildebeest, and giraffes, along with predators like lions and leopards. The Tarangire River attracts wildlife year-round, creating fantastic game-viewing opportunities. Your guide will take you on a thrilling game drive with a picnic lunch in the park. After your safari, continue to the lush highlands of Karatu, located near the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Settle into your lodge nestled in the rolling hills, where you’ll enjoy a peaceful dinner and rest for the journey ahead.

Day 3
NDUTU REGION
Rise early and depart from Karatu toward the Southern Serengeti and the Ndutu region, where the Great Migration is in full swing. During calving season (January–March), the vast plains come alive as thousands of wildebeest give birth, attracting predators like lions, hyenas, and cheetahs. Witness new life and dramatic wildlife encounters on thrilling game drives guided by experts who know where the herds are gathering. Enjoy a picnic lunch amidst the action and continue exploring the area, spotting elephants, gazelles, and a variety of birdlife. In the evening, return to your tented camp, where you’ll dine under the stars with the sounds of the wild surrounding you.

FULL DAY EXPLORE NDUTU
Spend the entire day exploring the Ndutu region, focusing on the wildebeest calving spectacle. Early morning and late afternoon game drives maximize chances to witness dramatic predator-prey interactions, as lions, cheetahs, and hyenas are often nearby during this vulnerable season. The plains may echo with newborn calls and predator roars, offering intense, real-time wildlife drama. The open landscapes allow for excellent visibility and photography, especially during golden light hours. Your guide will adapt routes based on movement patterns to ensure optimal sightings. Return to your tented camp in the evening, with stories from a day filled with raw nature in motion.

Day 5
NDUTU-NGORONGORO CRATER
After an early breakfast, depart Ndutu and drive to the Ngorongoro Crater, descending into the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera. This UNESCO World Heritage Site hosts nearly every major African mammal, including rhinos, lions, elephants, hippos, and massive herds of wildebeest and zebra. The enclosed ecosystem supports incredible wildlife density and diversity. Enjoy a full game drive with a picnic lunch at the crater floor, often beside a hippo pool. In the afternoon, ascend the crater walls and continue to Karatu for overnight. While this day includes significant travel, it delivers one of the most awe-inspiring safari experiences in Africa.

Day 6
KARATU - ARUSHA
After breakfast, begin your drive back to Arusha. Depending on your departure schedule, you may have time for optional souvenir shopping or a brief local tour. Upon arrival in Arusha, you’ll be transferred to either Arusha Airport or Kilimanjaro International Airport for your outbound flight. This final leg of the journey offers time to reflect on your experience or transition to a Zanzibar beach extension. While the return drive can feel long, it’s an opportunity to enjoy Tanzania’s landscapes one last time. Your safari concludes with unforgettable memories of wildlife encounters and the magic of the Great Migration.
